August 1, 2019 – Stepping Stones – the Nelson based emergency shelter serving the West Kootenay area – is holding a blanket and camping gear drive. Between now and August 31st, 2019, Stepping Stones is requesting donations of sleeping bags, blankets, camping gear, towels, men’s medium pants and t-shirts.

With the camping season upon us there are more people requesting these items and our stock is now depleted.

If you have new or slightly used sleeping bags, single or double sized blankets (wool preferably), tents or camping gear, towels, men’s pants and t-shirts and would like to donate, please drop off at 816 Vernon Street. Donations of these specific items will be greatly appreciated and we thank all those people in the community that continue to support and donate to Stepping Stones.

Stepping Stones is a program of the Nelson CARES Society and has been in operation in Nelson since December 2004.
