Dear Partners, Funders and Supporters,
Please join Nelson CARES in welcoming Jacqueline (Jac) Nobiss the new Executive Director of Nelson CARES Society. I will be working with Jac through April to assist with the transition, on-boarding, and orientation. I am so excited for the next chapter of Nelson CARES Society under Jac’s stewardship.
Nelson CARES Board of Directors is very pleased to announce that effective April 1, 2022 Jacqueline (Jac) Nobiss will assume the role of Executive Director. We feel fortunate that Jac has agreed to join our team. Jac is warm, energetic, and possesses a wonderful sense of humour. A life-long learner, Jac has a BSW, an MSW, an MBA and is currently working on a PHD. Jac has worked in remote communities and large urban centres as a counsellor, program coordinator, operations manager, and a business consultant. Jac’s passions include social development, economic development, and youth housing as well as many other challenges related to Indigenous, Metis and First Nations issues.
As Nelson CARES Society embarks on this next chapter, the Board of Directors is confident that the organization’s staff, clients and funders will be well served and supported by Jac Nobiss in their role as Executive Director and the Board is excited about what this next chapter holds for both Nelson CARES and the community it supports.
