EMERGENCY SHELTER
Stepping Stones Emergency Shelter provides 24/7 crisis housing for individuals and families experiencing homelessness. We offer a safe, respectful, and supportive space where people can stabilize and begin moving toward longer-term housing. Guests may stay for up to 30 days while connecting with housing supports, health care, and community services.
AFFORDABLE HOUSING
Nelson CARES manages 260 units of affordable housing for adults and families. Call 250-352-6011 to be directed to the housing program.
CUSTOM FIT
Custom Fit Inclusion and Employment Services provides opportunities for individuals to obtain real work for real pay.

KOOTENAY SENIORS TRANSPORTATION
Services include:
- Information for seniors about transportation options
- Trip planning, including transit schedule information and problem solving
- Information and support to register for programs and subsidies

THE ADVOCACY CENTRE
The Advocacy Centre can help you navigate government benefits, landlord-tenant issues, family law, legal aid, dealing with sexual and relationship violence, and more.

COMMUNITY LIVING SUPPORT
The Services for Community Living Program has provided supported community living for some of Nelson’s most vulnerable citizens for more than 30 years.

SENIORS HOME SUPPORT
Our Home Support Program aims to support seniors to stay at home for as long as possible, by providing light housekeeping and laundry services. Home Support workers are screened for criminal record check. The fees for seniors are calculated on a sliding scale, according to income

The Nelson Committee on Homelessness brings community groups together to speak in a single voice to address the issue of homelessness in the West Kootenays.
